Hello Amana people, My Amana clothes dryer needs a new belt and I want to replace it myself. I took the two clips off the back and can lift the top of the machine up from the back but I can't seem to figure out how to get the front to release. It looks like there are two more clips on the front but there is no way to get at them. Im assuming the that the top of the unit does come off. Can you tell me the secret to how to get it off.

I have taken the two clips off the back of the machine. I cannot figure out how to release the front end of the top I see that there are two more clips but can't access them. I need to replace the drive belt.
Thanks for you help.

first thing you want to do is put the two back clips back on the machine.
Make sure unit is unplugged.
Remove the two screws holding the bottom front panel on, and remove panel. Remove the two screws on bottom of upper front panel, lift panel from bottom and pull towards you and up. Disconnect wires for door switch (make diagram of where wires go ) and place panel to the side.
Now remove the four screws that hold bulkhead on, and lift bulkhead up and off. Remove the two screws that hold the main top down, and lift main top up.
Let the top rest against something so it does not fall back. You can now get the belt replaced.
