I have a Maytag Performa washing machine, model # PAV3240AWW.
All the cycles work except the "Spin" cycle. The belt is still in place and the water drain pump works. I have no manual or schematic to look at.
flipped the washer. Belt (single one) is in place and can make it move mannual. One direction and the water drain pump works. The drain pump works in automatic as well.
If it will not spin then the thrust bearing is the most likely problem, this part comes with installation instructions with it, this is part number 12002213, You can order the parts you need from the following places: http://www.Apwagner.com http://www.Repairclinic.com or http://www.Partstore.com
all of these places offer easy returns and reasonable prices for thier items.
I'm not sure I understand. All three pulley wheels turn when the belt is moved. Does the thrust bearing engage when the spin cycle selected by the washer and if it is worn or broken it won't engage and the washer can't spin?
Yes when it goes into spin cycle it lifts the gearcase off the brake and allows it to spin, this is what the thrust bearing does for the unit.
My machine does the same but the three pulleys work when i set it at spin cycle. Everything spins... my only problem is that the tub inside the washing machine won't spin there for my clothes remain very damp. Can anyone help with this?
I also have a Maytag where the Spin cycle does Not Spin, the machine runs, but will Not Spin. Is this a Minor problem that can be fixed?
I have a Maytag Performa, when it agitates it make a real steady LOAD noise. It works great but the noise is loud loud...a buddy told me maybe the gear in the transmission.. ?
I have a machine that leaves towels wet after going through the spin cycle. I have to run it back through for the second time. I have lifted the lid and put a pencil onto the switch and the spin seems to be fine. It starts off slow as norm and then works to full speed w/o delay. I am stumped???? any suggestions??? Thanks in advance for all the help
